‘Waikiki’ takes the popular beach neighbourhood of Honolulu, Hawaii as its subject. For this piece, Leonard worked in a style inspired by the colourful Fauvist paintings of Gauguin. The result – a joyous painting, bursting with summery, vibrant colour.
