A Sarah Ollerenshaw painting offers you the chance to own a piece that not only captures the beauty of nature but also evokes deep emotional connections. Her works invite viewers to experience the peace and wonder of bluebell woods and woodlands, transporting them to a tranquil place where the past and present merge. Each painting aims to stir a sense of nostalgia and inspiration, allowing the viewer to reconnect with moments of joy, beauty, and serenity. Sarah’s paintings are ideal for those seeking artwork that speaks to the soul, bringing a sense of calm and a connection to nature into any space.

About Sarah’s Work

Sarah’s paintings are created with intensity and energy, using bold, painterly marks, scratches, and a variety of palette knives. Her work is grounded in her studio practice, where she works loosely from photographs to capture the essence of the scene. Sarah’s evolving interest lies in the movement of paint—how colour and texture interact, creating tension between abstraction and realism. She aims for a photographic edge within her emotive style, where the vibrancy of colour either sings or recedes depending on its placement. This unique technique results in dynamic, expressive works that showcase the balance between emotional intensity and artistic integrity.

Styling Ideas

Sarah Ollerenshaw’s paintings add an air of peaceful elegance to any interior. Their rich color palettes and dynamic compositions make them versatile for various settings, from contemporary minimalist spaces to more traditional, cozy environments. A piece from Sarah’s collection would create a focal point in a living room, study, or hallway, especially when paired with natural wood furniture or lush indoor plants. Her works would complement soft, neutral tones while bringing a burst of color and life to a room, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. For those looking to bring nature indoors, her bluebell and woodland paintings will evoke a sense of calm and connection to the outdoors.

About Sarah

Sarah Ollerenshaw is an accomplished artist with a rich background in fine art restoration. She studied History of Art before completing a postgraduate diploma at Christie’s Education. This led to an apprenticeship in restoration and conservation, a field she dedicated herself to for several years. However, despite her success in restoration, Sarah’s true passion for painting gradually shifted her focus toward creating her own art.  Sarah now paints full-time from her Wimbledon studio and has also had the rewarding experience of a two year stint as artist in residence at Kensington Prep school.  Sarah’s work is informed by her personal experiences, particularly her memories of childhood and the inspiration she draws from nature.
